Wrocław: Post Mortem decoration award for Fr. prof. Antoni Kiełbasa SDS

On September 3-4, 2010 in Wrocław took place the ceremony of decoration award of the Polish edition of the Silesian Cultural Award of Lower Saxony. In organizing the ceremony was involved also the Center for Culture and Art in Wrocław, which is a cultural institution of the Autonomy Government of Lower Silesian Province.

The decoration awarding took place on September 3rd at the City Hall. Fr. prof. Antoni Kiełbasa SDS (1938-2010) died suddenly on July 15th this year. The special award was founded by the Marshall of Lower Silesian Province for our Confrere’s involvement in the area of Polish – German reconciliation and for spreading the cult of Saint Jadwiga of Silesia.

In memory of Fr. Antoni Kiełbasa, the City Museum of Wrocław organized an exposition as initiative of The Marshall’s Office and of the Center for Culture and Art. In the ceremony participated numerous guests from Poland and Germany, among whom was present our Confrere’s family, representatives of our Provincial  Council: Fr. Piotr Filas, provincial superior and Fr. Mikołaj Markiewicz, consultor; delegation of our confreres from the Salvatorian community of Trzebnica; and representatives of city authorities of Trzebnica and Oborniki Śląskie.
